I would agree with Dennis I would take a photo copy of it. I remember a few years back 2 American guys had trouble with the people they had rented their car from claimed they had damaged the vehicle when they hadn't and while they were discussing about the problem one of the people confiscated their bags which had money and passports in the worst was one of the lads mum had just passed away and were going to organise return flights to America. we met them in travel office explaining their problem. They had gone to the police but they wanted money to get the problem sorted. The coruption was pretty bad back then. I would advise your husband to take photos of the vehicle just in case.
