if you go over your 20kg allowance. It doesnt matter who you are taking what for, whether new or used, I took both, we had 3 suitcases and the one with all the pressies in weighed 30kg!!! But because we had surboards aswell they only charged us on the board weight eg $6 per kilo (I was a total of 32kg over weight and they were going to charge me $15 per kg, since we had surfboards they took the weight down to 15kg and only had to pay $6 per kg). Going over I was a total of 32kg over in weight and coming home a total of 47kg over in weight, had to pay $100 coming home, I thought this was more than fair as even though we did have surfboards and kiteboards we were over a fair amount.
