Hair Braiding ,Sunburnt Scalp

Hi this will be our 1st trip to Bali. My 10yr old woul like to have her hair braided. A friend mentioned that you do not get this done as your scalp gets sunburnt and it is very painfull.Has anyone experienced this? Also could you recomend where she could have this done in Legian and a rough idea of costs.Thankyou for your help
