this is a copy of an email from Virgin.
Dear Dennis,

Thank you for your email.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for the delayed reply. As noted on our website, a system outage has meant that we are currently experiencing lengthy delays in replying to online enquiries.

Good news! We do have an interline agreement with Garuda Indonesia which means that your baggage will be through checked to your final destination. Each guest travelling with Virgin Blue is permitted a free checked-in baggage allowance of 20kg. Check-in baggage that exceeds this free baggage allowance will attract excess baggage charges. Due to occupational health and safety conditions, each piece must not weigh more than 32kg and we also recommend that each piece does not exceed a total linear dimension (Add depth, width and length) of 140cm. You are also welcome to bring one piece of carry-on baggage, not exceeding 7kgs or the dimensions of 23cm in depth, 34cm in height and 48cm in length.

I have included Virgin Blue's excess baggage charges for your reference:

01 kg - 10 kg over free baggage allowance = $20
11 kg - 15 kg over free baggage allowance = $30
16 kg and above over the free baggage allowance = $80 + $5 for every kg over 16kg

This is charged at check-in and payment can be made by credit card, cash and EFTPOS. Please note that carriage of excess baggage cannot be guaranteed and is subject to the flight load.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard later in the year. Please don't hesitate to email us again, if you have any further enquiries.

Kind regards,

Cassie
