people would like to invest in property in Bali. I can understand if their partner is Indonesian or they have business interests etc. I have lived in Indonesia for a few years and other parts of SE Asia and I own property in Melbourne. My plan is to rent a property and share with friends...it is probably cheaper and less risk than trying to keep on top of the Indonesian system. A friend has been building a house in Bali and within six months started to realise that builders etc were going to local sponsor for instructions despite the fact she was expected to be paying the bills...grrr...no thanks!
