Hi all, well we have arrived home after spending 23 days in paradise...will do my jbr in parts and sorry it may take a while as only back at work on Monday and very busy.
Left Syd airport on 30th July flying garuda. There was a large group going over for a wedding so all week we had friends arriving. I knew that I would be over in weight going (hubby and son surf and kite surf so we had surfboards, kites and kiteboards)and boy was I right....32kg over infact!!! So even before we left Sydney here I am bartering heheh, was pretty happy with the outcome only had to pay $90 so thought that was ok, we had 3 large suitcases and one was so heavy as it was full with 100 teddies (had given the other 100 to other friends in space bags), clothes for our balinese families and exercise books, pens, pencils etc for one of the kids school.
Flight was good, have never had a problem with garuda and actually it was quicker than last year so that was a bonus.
Luckily we were the only plane so VOA wasnt too bad, but if someone could just teach them how to stamp the passports quickly would be great, thats half the problem they just go sooooooooo slow hehe, oh well its bali and sort of teaches you patience before you exit the airport, perhaps thats what they are thinking??
Walked out to see our beautiful boy Arya waiting with a huge smile on his face....I think that was the best moment for me, after 12 months to see him again was just wonderful (we have 3 sons of our own but Arya is definately the 4th - since he spent 3 weeks with us here in our home last year its so hard not to see him each week like our boys). He had arranged our transfers (we were with 2 other families) so it wasnt long before we all had a cold bintang in our hands & off to the Barong for our first week.
Will continue tomorrow with the Barong....cheers Trace
