Your Visa, Mastercard, sometimes Amex work in Bali.
Dont cash any money into rupiah prior to arriving in Bali.
Change money at the airport on arrival at a lesser rate, or access the ATM at the airport to get your first wallet full of Rupiah.
Depending on your budget and choice of restaurant, drinks, etc, you could spend au$100 per day up to au$200 for two.
You can eat a delicious meal for two for change out of au$10 or splurge and pay au$100. I suppose average restaurants have main meals for au$2 to au$10 per meal.
There are many ATMs now in most tourist destinations in Bali these days, so its easy to access your cheque and / or savings accounts.
Dont forget most banks charge you per transaction so its often wiser to withdraw the highest Rp per transaction (1.2 or 1.5 million)
