When I am travelling in Asia or PNG, I take Doxcylline.
In Australia, it is only available on prescription.
So far, I have never had Malaria.
The Commonwealth department of Health issues warnings about areas where it advises Australians to take anti-malarials. They do make mistakes. For example, their advice was that Port Moresby was malaria free. Yet every Port Moresby local I met, said that they had malaria at least once.
