We stayed at the Safari Park in April and did not have a problem with them using our credit card. We had the opportunity then to pay cash.
They usually block the credit card for one day and you can check this - then we found that the block was taken off. It is just to verify that your credit card is valid as well as their assurance just in case guests run off without paying.
