my daughter also had this reaction to tattoos in bali. You are right they are mixed with hair tint that causes the reaction. Being a hairdresser i have done a little research about the ingredient PPD. In the brand i use it is only in tint that is darker than a shade 5 or light brown. I have been using a blonde tint on her hair and have had no problems. You will be fine with darker foils so long as no colour touches your scalp or hands, i think too much of a risk as this kind of allergy gets worse with every contact. Also bo aware of some medications from now on as this ingredient can be used. Hope this helps a little.
