I would suggest trying the Bali Garden Hotel in Tuban. It is oly a 5-10 min walk to Kuta Square and the Kuta art markets. We stayed there for New Year earlier this year and thought it was fantastic. It is a little quieter than most in Kuta and there are plenty of shops and eateries close by. Also it is opposite Waterbomb if you had intended visiting there on this trip.
They also have drivers that work from out front only to happy to take you anywhere for a pretty reasonable price.
