I had a conversation with someone the other day expressing some similarities to your thoughts but I have had a rethink.
I feel ill sometimes when I read some of the JBR's about the orphans but it is done with good honest heart and good intentions, not everyone can express themselves like an author so that some posts sound self gratifying but I don't think they mean to.
Ok that covered the numbers really don't matter, there is no such thing as bad publicity and so many people in Indonesia need so many basic things. Orphans really are at the bottom of the poverty barrel in Asia and if one kindness can touch a child to restore some hope and security then everyone post away... Just make sure your charity or orphanage are as good with their delivery of the goods as you are about giving.
