thanks for your report, we have been doing similar with an orphanage there over the past 5 or 6 years and what a rewarding experience it is!!! We have taken money raised by the Lion's Club as well as countless suitcases of donated kids clothing. It is always greatly appreciated, so we keep collecting and sending items over with whoever we can!! Good advice not to send the money, easier for someone you know to carry it over or purchase the food with it, our friends are used to helping out now!!
