I have had to have safes opened. First time at Sanur Beach Hotel I stuffed up the combination and a staff member came and opened it. I must admit I don't remember how it was done. I presume a key. Last trip at the Ramayana I couldn't open the safe (I think it threw a hissy fit) so called reception. A staff member, plus a security guard, came to fix the safe. From memory he didn't actually use a key as he had to fix the area where you set the combination. I think something had stuck. It was eventually fixed and I signed a form to say it had been done. I was very happy with this.
