Hi Meg havent stayed at Alam Indah yet but was at Alam Shanti last year and I dont think you could ever regret it. We were in Shindu room and I remember at the time thinking(I was there without family) that my whole family could fit in the bed!!It had a day bed in doors that could be made up also. My littlest is only 3 tho' and ends up with us many a night anyway(sigh). For you it may be better to get either the Deluxe garden or rice field rooms-they are enormous! and some-plenty of room for whole family.Gangga and Yumana the largest (we had a peek)and what is little known there is another room in that building with 2/3 extra beds if you need them for the use of G and Y guests -though unless you had an entire extended family I dont know why you would.If money is an issue Indus and Narmada would be plenty spacious.
I really thought I couldnt stay anywhere else but I've been curious about Alam Indah for quite a while. The ambience is just a little different to Shanti-bit more rustic, gardens a little more established,more forested and of course gorge views in the right room. The general consensus seems to be that Alam Shanti feels a little more "luxurious" but Indah has a long-established and lush aesthetic. Hope that helps.
