Thanks for confirming that! It's been 7 years since I worked at the consulate (and that wasn't in immigration) and 11 years since my husband got his PR. He was an exception to the 2 year visa. We had been married for 4 years and had a son when we applied. Mind you, once he had his visa, Medicare office in Cairns were as rude as and told him he couldn't get a card! I did my firm mother voice and demanded they send the information to the office in Brisbane, which they did with bad grace saying it wouldn't be granted. A week later he got the card! I love when petty bureaucrats don't win out. But I hate that I had to look up how to spell "bureaucrats". Surely there must be an easier word!!! :)
