Back after our 8th time in Bali.

We left Perth on the 4th of April, this was a quick visit we only went for a week. Hubby was online one day back in January and happened to get frequent flyer's so Myself, Hubby, Son number 4 and Brother-in-law took of to paradise.

In October there is a huge crew of us going (up to more than 50 people).

First time i have done a JBR so i hope i don't bore you all too much, its usually my hubby's job.

April 4th, arrived Perth Airport booked in no problems, duty free shopped sat in Qantas Club for a few hours, plane left on time.

Arrived in Bali on time, straight through customs, feet didn't stop, from one counter to another. From leaving the plane to getting our luggage to getting a taxi probably no more than 15 minutes. Arrived at Kuta Townhouses about 12.45am the boys had a few Bintangs. Very, very happy with our apartment. There is no way we would go back to a hotel room after staying here, its our second time and also in October we are staying here.

Day One
Up early, so excited to be back, Hub and i left son and b-i-l sleeping and wondered off for an early morning walk. Oh how i love Bali when its "Waking Up", the weather was beautiful, it had rained a little over night, so that Bali smell was around. The Balinese remind me of little ants going about there business.
The fire a few weeks ago in Poppies 1, came as close as possible to the KTH. From AFL shop right to the KTH. There is a big mess out there and slowly but surely "Bali Time" it will be cleaned up.
Breakfast every morning at KTH, not a lot on the menu, but whats there suits us fine. Hub loves the noodles and rice, son the eggs, b-i-l the cereal and i just had whatever took my fancy on the day.
Up to Matahari's to stock up on our bits and pieces, toothpaste, brushes, shampoo etc.
Headed up to Legion to see Kutut, unfortunately for us she wasn't there. The two she left her shop with didn't really care if we bought or not and were not very helpful at all. Hub and b-i-l are XL and XXL so we thought going there they would be able to stock up on their shorts/singlets. We like the idea of not battering and find her prices as good as. The men got a few bits over all we weren't that impressed.
Up the road to see Dede at Bali Gong. One of Bali's gentleman. He was so thrilled to see us, we didn't let him know we were coming. Seen we were in Bali last October we thought we really didn't need any movies, out of the 150 we bought last year i have only watch a handful so decided we really didn't need any more......so of course we managed to walk out of Dede's with another 80.
Lunch was at Wayan and Friends. Of course the men had to have Nasi, son had the spring rolls and I the yummiest bread roll with chicken/sun-dried tomatoes/lettuce/avocado and mayo.
Back to KTH to watch the footy. Caught a blue taxi, as we always do, and as we went past the old Peanuts Nightclub the taxi driver said to my Hub, "Please Sir, i just need to pee". Well, we couldn't believe it and while he was out there doing his pee up a fence we laughed and laughed. Saying this would never happen in Perth only in Bali!!
Late afternoon, as we do every day we are in Bali, we head off to the beach to our local bar "Rudie's". We have been coming here now for the past 4-5 visits, and the people there are very dear to us. No one knew we were coming so there was much excitement amongst the locals when they saw us.
Watched the sunset, back to KTH for a shower and out to Tamin Sari for tea. So glad we choose this for our 1st Bali Tea, complementary juice, cold towel and garlic bread on arrival. Staff and service was great. Food delicious.
3 Cocktails, 4 cokes
2 plates of Nachos
Honey Chilli Chicken/steamed rice (b-i-l- loved this dish)
Nasi
Satay Sticks
Chicken Schnitzel
Cheese Burger/Chips
All up meal cost $32.00.
What a great way to end our first day.

Day Two
Up early and off to "Circle K" to stock up on a few 5 litre water containers. Breaky KTH. then off to the surf factory outlet. I have 4 sons and nearly a daughter-in-law, so i love this shop and it loves me!!.
4 board shorts
5 t-shirts
4 dresses girls tops
1 rip curl girls windcheater
Cost $137.70 (Got out visa bill yesterday, so that is exact cost).
Back to Kuta Square where Hub and b-i-l bought track shoes, they paid around $50.00.
Lunch was at KTH, had a relax around the pool then off to Centro, straight to the second floor for me and stocked up on shoes, (8 pairs) then met up with b-i-l's friends who took us to "Panti Restaurant", right down on the ocean front in Tuban. Food was nice, we all had entrees (some had seafood mix which was about $10.00 each, bit pricey for Bali but they loved it), mains and cocktails.
Cost was about $14.00 a head.
Back to KTH, a movie and a few Baileys topped off what was another great day in paradise.

Day Three
Breaky and then off to Carrefore. Spent a few hours here, just browsing around, seemed to buy a few bags of bits and pieces, nothing exciting. Got dropped at Double 6 and wondered down to the beach.
Lunch was at "Tekor"
Nasi
Noodles
Cheese Burger (son said best yet ever)
Chicken satays
6 bintangs
4 cokes
Cost $18.00
Back to KTH for lazy afternoon, didn't venture out again until tea time which was hub's all time favourite "Glory's".
Very busy this night but service was still good,
2 large ribs (son and Hub)
Veal cordon Bleu (Yuk yuk dropped in a pan off oil, i couldn't eat this)
chicken dish (not sure what, but b-i-l enjoyed)
3 cocktails (Very nice)
2 cokes
4 bintangs
Cost $49.00
Although my meal was terrible, we will certainly go back, i will make sure i order something different.

Day Four
B-i-l and son just wanted a day off rest today, so they wandered down Legion Street and did the surf shops. Hub and i took of to Geneva, my favourite shop in Bali and one i visit every time i go. Mind you, didn't buy a lot this time i usually do but i know the place so well now i know just what i want. Bought a set of cushions $8.00, table runner $3.00 and a few other bits. Stopped off at Animale outlet picked up a few bits of clothing there and then back to the surf factory to buy the boys some jeans. I had priced them in the Billabong shop on Legion Rd and they wanted more than a million rup (around $120.00), about what i would expect to pay in Perth. Got a pair for son number one cost $23.00 also got son number 4 a pair, his were $29.00. Caught a light blue taxi as we always do, and got one whose meter just ticked and ticked. I love this about Bali, nothing is the same where ever or what ever you do, when Hub asked him why his meter was ticking so fast he got all defensive. Our most expensive taxi fare cost all of $3.00, and of course as Hub always does, he gave him a tip. Met up with son and b-i-l in Legion Rd and we went to Bagus for lunch
satay chicken/steamed rice
2 Nasi (what else would the men have)
son didn't want any lunch so a few bintangs and cokes cost
$14.00.
Relaxing afternoon around the pool before we headed to the beach. Our special friend Jimmy (hires surfboards) isn't very well. He hadn't been to work for a few months. I had some soccer boots for his son, clothes and things for his wife so i text him and he got his nephew to drive him down to see us. He has lost 14 kilo and has some stomach infection. An Australian doctor is treating him there, and i think some of his Aussie friends are helping him buy his medication. Hub shook his hand and passed on some money for which bought tears to his eyes, I hope so much he is back on the beach doing his thing when we return in October.
Poco Loco's for tea. We have been meaning to get here for many trips now and never have.
entree of dips
enchiladas, taco's all that
cocktails
cokes
Around $25.00
Wouldn't go again, food was ok, but done that now.

Half way through our holiday now so will continue with part two, hopefully tomorrow.
