This is correct, it is supposed to make them better fighters, I don't know how. I thought it was illegal but my driver says they have the fights during ceremonies (and as we know the Balinese have a lot of ceremonies). Last year driving from Ubud to Sanur, the day before Nyepi, we did pass a number of men in a groups and I was told they were watching a cockfight. Now to get back to the massaging. Whenever I am in Bali I am always invited to my drivers place (like a lot of drives he and his family live in 2 rooms) and on my last trip he had a rooster. Now this is something he has never had there before. He brought the rooster out its cage(yes I am watching my words as I know you lot) and starting massaging it, starting from the neck down to the tail. I thought he looked a bit rough and I don't think the rooster liked it either. Wayan told me he had to do that a few times a day so that was why he was taking the time to it then. I really wasn't comfortable watching this but I was a guest. I hope this explains it a bit more. Cheers, Stormy
