Just got home yesterday.
The Patra resort is a right next door to the Airport...they share a common fence. However it is a beautiful resort with great pools...Do not book into the studios or anything in the 200s as this is closest to the airport and you will hear aircraft all night...(you do get use to it) The staff and the facilities are great and it is a great place to take the kids. You can walk to Kuta every day but warned doing this more than 2 times a day will tire you out (just cab it from the hotel as they will get blue cabs for you - metered) around 12,000 to Discovery or Kuta Square..you must walk along the beach past the old BALI HAI (which is NOT OPENING this year now)and is not bought by Holday inn as reported...we spoke to the gaurds on thursday. A larger japanese firm is looking at it but has not committed to it just as yet.
