i have flown several times from Brissy direct to Bali with good old Garuda (miss those days too !!!). But with small kids i would recommend flying with Singapore Airlines. They have personal tv's that would keep the kids amused for hours ! Plus more flight options. Twice a day from Brisbane to Singapore. Not sure if they both connect from Singapore to Bali but you could always do a stopver in Singa's anyway :O). But def worth the personal tv's !!!
