I had the same problem with my 5 year olds passport. my travel agent gave me the number for the Indonesian Consulate to ask them. When i called they said to get a new one as they would "turn my boy back!" even though it has 6 1/2 Months validity on it. I dont want to take the risk so I am in process of doing so now.
