As you go thru Candi Dasa main village, go past the restaurants until you come to the end and the road takes a left hand turn, don't veer left, there is a small road that goes straight ahead & down between two restaurants, follow this for a little way and then you will see a road (dirt) that goes to the right with signs to some hotels (Shangrila among them) and follow this for about 100 metres and you almost run into it.
Lovely hotel on a nice white sand beach, although small the beach & water are lovely.
We walked into the town (?) most nights for dinner and it only took about 10 minutes, one thing take a torch as it is dark without any lights on the way back, but safe.
Some great restaurants on the main road, Vincent's is one that has terrific food. When we were there (September 2006) the Shangrila had a Babi Guling night on the Sunday night, they also have a couple of other theme nights as well.
Wayan, one of the waiters, is a lovely man. We stayed in unit no 15, right at the left hand end with an unrestricted view out to the water and the islands.
