a local drink the tap water....they buy the bottled water just like we do....I see them also filling the bottles in the "fresh" streams....but I don't know if they're drinking it or not....and if they do, I'm sure it is boiled..
If you think about it, the food in the places I mentioned is rotated constantly....as that where all the locals eat....whereas in some of the restaurants it may not be nearly as fresh because there are a lot of them and not enough tourists to go around...and the menus are quite extensive...
There are many many people on this forum that travel to Bali often that will agree with what I've said....and also eat in these great Padangs and warungs...give it a try....you might be surprized...
