My opinion would be that in 3 weeks, whatever you get up to in Bali will be worthwhile and good. Ubud will allow you easier access to the countryside, great restaurants, village markets and tours to mountains. While there, I would do one of the Bali Baik rides, which gives you a more personal veiw of the backstreets etc.and an authentic Balinese meal at conclusion. We stay in Sanur, but to get to see Kuta, Legian, Nusa dua or anywhere else on the island are all aspects of this fascinating island. Like me, many people on this forum have been over 20 times, but it is always with surprise and pleasure that you can discover something new each time. Just sometimes sitting in a cafe, watching life go by in Bali is enough.
