- in the southern tourist areas of Kuta, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Sanur etc so, if the mad tourist thing does not appeal too much, why not base yourself in the more central Ubud (or Lovina or Candi Dasa) and make day trips to wherever else you want to go, including the mad south?
