We pay the hotel in $us and VOA . We find that the Hotels give you a very poor exchange rate as does the VOA desk. So you make up for it there .Also found that when buying stock to bring back or paying freight (DHL ETC) its easer to negociate in $us.
We change AU$ to US$ when we book the Hotel so as to lock in the cost as of that day. As for daily expenses etc we like to be able to have a choice of currency to change so if one is up or down we able to get the beat rate.
