Not sure what the point is Trace as maths will tell you that even if they changed the $$$ at Post Office with NO transaction fees...the rate in Bali is 8600rp AUD or 9200rp USD ( or close to it). With the ease of changing either sort of $$$ in Bali we never worry about taking USD, except for the visa on arrival. Different if travelling to countries where easier to change USD.
Your question reads they paid 94c AUD/ $1 USD, think you'll find it was 94c USD/$1AUD....we got 92c USD/ $1AUD last week for Vietnam trip. Happy with that!
