these young kids may have been young and naive but they still knew taking drugs in and out of any country is against the law, it is also pretty hard to miss all the advertising around airports warning of the various penalties to drug couriers in each country. It wasn't a stupid mistake it was a stupid decison.
Had they been successful in bringing these drugs into the country and onto the market they had the potential to harm a lot more people than just their own families, and deaths could well have occurred.
But I don't agree with the death penalty for any crime so I was very happy to hear that they have had these sentences commuted for that reason.
