Stayed at Nusa Dua for the first time at Christmas/ New Year. All the hotels were, well Hotel Prices, and you need to take a mortgage out to eat.

Just outside the main gates of the Nusa Dua enclave are a whole range of restaurants with a range of prices. We found them to be just a tad more expensive than Kuta but better quality. They were trying to get business and all offered either discount, free garlic bread, or free first drink. One even offered Arak shooters all night!

After the above I think the food prices about averaged out to Kuta prices, cheaper as you don't need Taxi. Bintang was more expensive - they didn't seem to have the ‘happy hour'

I think they all offered free transport in both directions but are an easy walk from most hotels, especially as you don't have the hawkers of shops along the way.

In addition there is a range of eateries within the Nusa Dua Shopping complex, and while some looked a little dearer than outside never tried any. Likewise prices from memory weren't anything like the $20/30 mark

Enjoy. You will find good places at good prices, but don't try the duck restaurant on the far side of Nusa Dua going towards the water activities. Excellent service, OK food, warm Bintang but mega expensive
