We were planning on getting new lenses for our glasses in Bali in March. I had read that any medical type services performed overseas were not claimable from your health fund.
I sent an email, off to NIB (our fund) to clarify this issue. Their response was that from July 2007, changes in legislation were made whereby all funds could not provide rebates for health related claims outside of Australia.
Given that, what are people going to do about purchasing glasses, getting dental work etc? Are you still going to have it done in Bali, or at home where it is claimable? I am interested in people's thoughts about their intentions now that this information is available.
Cheers HB
