I have a prepaid phone with Telstra. In order to be able to use it in Bali I have to get it "unlocked" so that an Indonesian SIM card can be inserted. Telstra advised that it could be "unlocked" for a $50 fee! Additionally you can not access International Roaming if you have a prepaid phone.

In an earlier post by Tuberose, she reports that her mobile was "unlocked" in Denpasar for $30 approx.
