for families is few and far between but when 4 of us went we found 2 hotels suitable.
Holiday Inn Parkview just off orchard road and Merchant court down near the Chinatown area sort of...
Even then though they have 2 double beds.
We picked Holiday inn although I think we should have picked Merchant court as we liked the area more.
Great places to eat are Newton food circ and chinatown...both cheap.
