that I have stayed in Singapore are the Allson not far from Raffles or Little India and the Bugis Street shopping markets; Furama City Centre which is close to China Town and the river; Mirimar which is also not that far from China Town and overlooks the river and has the Hop-on Hop-off bus stop directly in front of the hotel. Check out your travel agent for deals on the Singapore Stopover Holiday which offer heaps of two for one deals, discounts on heaps of other attractions as well. Most of the department stores have food courts which are very reasonably priced but can get quite busy during lunch times.
