My first time to bali was in 1983 and i remember going down to kuta beach to check it out ... well i wasnt ready for what was about to happen!! my partner at the time looked at me and then run one way and i went the other with a few hundred beach sellers chasing us down the beach ! now i look back on it and laugh as i would say so did the people sitting on the beach that day . it tooks other 3 days before we headed back to the beach .Now Im alot older and wiser and a few firm No thank you normaly does the trick or another one is what my friend and i do if we cant be bothered with the hassel of the sellers is pretend to speak in mexican ( not that we can) but it sounds good and this normally works. you will find that after afew days the sellers get to know your face and will talk to you rather than drive you crazy trying to sell you their stuff we have meet alot of really nice beach hawkers over the years and learn't alot of interesting things by talking to them ... have fun : ) fiona
