I have been sponsoring for a few years now and as I go several times a year have developed a relationship with the girls and their parents. We text each other and I visit their home whenever I can. So I guess I have gone beyond the norm. They invited me to their home years ago and it just turned out that way.
I hope I haven't caused a problem. I always bring things for them to share with neighbors, clothes rice etc as I know jealousy can be a problem. I never bring elaborate gifts for the girls. Just something small and maybe things all the neighborhood kids can share. Balloons etc.
