My wife and I stayed there last August with a group of about 10 mates, we loved the place. We had a ground level poolside room and thought it was great. Only draw back was it was noisey when people were in the pool late at night. Which usually meant our mates were swimming, which usually ended up with us joining them.
One of the couples stayed in the apartment style rooms towards the front of the property and they seemed to be ok. They certainly had no complaints.
Apartments were about a couple of hundred metres from the pool, the pool is about 50 metres from the beach. But in comparision to the amount of walking you do in Bali, that's nothing.
Our only complaint was they didn't have a double bed in the room, which we asked for. They pushed 2 king single beds together, which was fine.
