I will also be in Bali for Nyepi and will be staying at the Ramayana so hope to see it from the restaurant. Did you go to the market next morning on Kuta Beach? I have not been able to find out much info on this, only that it is to the left from the art markets and the remains of the ogah ogah are to the right. I saw the ogah ogah in Ubud last year. Absolutely amazing seeing them being made. The villages collect money to pay for a specialist to build the ogah ogohs as there is also a competition. They put a sign up outside the local banjar to let you know who has donated. When you say that there is no street lighting, does this mean that restaurants etc also dim their lighting. If it is really dark I won't be venturing far so that is why I am hoping to see them from the restaurant.
