my daughter B and her man have just returned from 12 days in Bali.
They stayed at SuriWathi is Legian then PuriBagus in Lovina, Tegal Sari and back to SuriWathi.
Unfortunately B had packed her raspberry juice (I gave them a bottle in a decor thermal holder for Christmas, with measuring cup) and Inner Health tablets in her carry on thus lost the raspberry juice (250ml bottle and 100ml is maximum fluid per bottle/container)
First room at SW (SuriWathi) was 16B although they had booked newest room 20. Bit disappointed but ok.
Found the first night difficult to find somewhere to eat as their flight had arrived around 10pm. Called over to Legends and Antoni suggested Mamas as they serve food 24 hours. Disappointing though as it was German food and when you are in Bali, you want Indonesian food!
Next day got drenched en route to Melasti Spa, but didnt matter as they were about to peel off their gear for 3 hours of treatments!
Were encouraged to visit eat street in Seminyak the next night, but found each place to serve International menus and they were hanging out for traditional Indonesian food. Eventually found a taxi to take them to Gado Gado. Great food, service etc, but still not Indo restaurant!
En route to Lovina they visited B's sponsor girl at SD2 Sobangan. The school was empty and fortunatley someone there knew her sponsor girls home location so they visited the home. B had taken a lot of ladies and mens clothes and gave them to her girls Mother who was thrilled. Once again B's sponsor girl was non emotion showing, but B is fine with that as, as she says, she is a blonde English speaking stranger and why would you show warmth to such a stranger! The mother showed immense appreciation of B's contribution to the schooling costs, so B is very happy with her sponsorship, thrilled to be able to have personal contact and relationship. (if you are interested, we sponsor children thru the Rotary Sponsorship program, thru Noel Allen at the Swan Valley Rotary Club in WA, in conjunction with Rotary in Bali-Denpasar)

Loved Lovina and all that Puri Bagus had to offer.
Travelled down to Ubud via Git Git waterfalls and enjoyed the walk down to the falls, relaxing cool off under the overflowing water then back up the hill. Was booked into room 23 at Tegal Sari (downstairs new room) but where contacted on the day and asked were they happy to change to room 20 upstairs. they were very happy to change to the upstairs new room (the other guests were older and didnt like the stairs up to room 20). They actually ordered 2 meals from room service, they loved the atmosphere, ambience, balcony etc.
Ate or drank at Indus (note to self, must return to Indus next trip to Bali), Three Monkeys and Nomad. Visited the market a few times.
I had arranged with Tegal Sari for me to pay for treatments at their Pertinen Spa as a bonus Christmas present (I typed out vouchers and put their names on, for massages followed by flower bath), so they had full treatments and TS charged to my credit card. (I love the way NOTHING is too much trouble or difficult for TS to cope with).
They bought heaps at Geneva on their trip back to SW.
Were allotted room 24 at SW, it was too isolated. No passing guests and actually preferred to have returned to 16B.
Both had a few days of needing to remain close to the toilet and wished they had the raspberry juice. (B hasnt had problems in last two trips to Bali using raspberry juice each day).
Rained a few times for them, but didnt effect or 'dampen' they holiday one bit.
(To Meredith, yes they delivered the glasses to Smudge)

7 weeks and counting until I return to Bali.
