My sister stayed at the Mandira last year, and after reading reviews she was also worried about the rooms, but they loved it, she said the hotel was beautiful, the position is great, the pool and gardens lush.
Print photos of the room and the outlook you expect to have off their Internet site, so if it really is bad you have proof as to what you where shown, if they can't improve on it, and you have only paid a deposit, go for a walk, see what other hotels can offer, if you find some where better come back and very respectfully tell them you are sorry but you will be changing hotel.
I bet you will be having so much fun showing your hubby Bali, that the room will very quickly be forgotten!
