Hey All,
We are still here our month in Bali is nearly up. We have had a wonderful time though the weather for our holiday seems to be finishing as it started wet :)
I thought I would post a few things whilst still here. Sorry for the dot points my manicure (lol) wont allow me to be verbose.
The Good:
Our hotel has been great, staff wonderful and they do their best to accomodate everyones needs. I cannot help but feel for them sometimes when they are treated like servants by customers instead of staff. The room is always clean and the drinks are cold, what more could I ask for.
Shopping, For the first time in many a trip I got two pairs of boots and two leather jackets made from Udi's leather off Poppies 2. They are wonderful and I feel silly for not doing this before.
Food, has been wonderful especially in Ubud, I dont think we could stay there for long or we would get very very fat ! We have been munching at many a place a few memorable ones have been; Alleycats; Murni's in Ubud; Lotus in Ubud; Indus in Ubud; TJ's and many a yummy warung ! Hubby has been enjoying the always bagus hospitality at the bagus pub everyday.
Safari park; We decided to go twice. I am in love with the orang utan there enough said. I tried to swap her for my hubby but apparently aussies who like beer are not an endangered species (oh well I tried)
Locals have been wonderful, I have experienced no rudeness and everyone has put up with my butchering of the indonesian language and has assisted me in my studies (I am learning back in OZ)
The Bad
Ummm how do I say this,,,,, the Australians that think they own Bali and that they can behave like pigs yet still want the same rights without any of the responsibilities. I am over it, this is not Australia so stop expecting the roads to be perfect, footpaths faultless and english perfect. Sorry about the rant but I have seen so many instances of this happening everywhere I am over it.
The beach hasnt been perfect but never is this time of year, I feel bad for the sellers who seem to be doing it tough with little business.
Another bad thing is I have to go home :(
The Ugly
Rude tourists
Increasing visible sex trade
A trend towards a more litigious nature by tourists
Anyways,
I am off to enjoy the final days left of our trip. Thanks BTF for your tips, tricks and ideas
