I thought your JBR was pretty entertaining Nev!

Anyhow, I'm particularly interested in your Singa airlines experience and your time there in good ol Singatown. I'm a big chance to go the Singa way to Bali this year...after several journey's via Garuda, I'm looking for a bit of a change from the hassle of having to make a domestic connectioin outr of Adelaide. Similarly, I'm looking to do the big bizclass ticket. I'm finding it a tad difficult to get a sense of the inflight experience out of adelaide though because the website simply says they are still flying the 777-200 out of here and all the online hooplah points to the new 380 widebody aircraft as having the bells and whistles of cocoon and layflat seating. When I go to the Skytrax site, the comments about the seat are not all the complimentary - people mostly complaining that the seat angle makes them slide towards the floor and there's a large bump in the middle of the seat. Finally, the biz class seating on the Singa website shows these swanky massively wide brown leather seats (looks like two people could sit in one) in a 1-2-1 configuration, yet the seating layout according the singas info is that is 2 x 3 x 2. Generally speaking, I'm getting a sense that the flight and cabin experience is not significantly better than Garuda but of course the cost is...by almost $3000! I have a feeling that Singa flys the same aircraft type out Auckland that they do out Adelaide. Could you please tell me a bit more about your seat style, the cabin configuration and the inflight experience? I'm quite prepared to pay the extra cash but only if its a really special experience. I'm also very interested in your time in Singapore - the fish and chips sounded great. Where is that place, specifically? I'm planning on staying at the Mandarin Oriental, which is don by the harbour. What did you particularly enjoy about Singapore? Email me if you prefer. Cheers - kevin
