Get some US$ before you leave NZ, I also get some Aus$ at the same time, for the short transit in Australia. Have been lucky and have never had a problem changing money but always use the recommended moneychangers. Cant' wait, am going in May. Once they know where your a kiwi, get used to all the Kia ora Bro (even when youre a lady!!!)
