I am actually with a Credit Union and by the nature of their accounts, I can get on the internet and transfer funds from one sub accoubt to another instantly. Therefore you can leave your Visa Debit Card at a minimum and transfer funds only if and when you need them. Safest bet of all. A $500 credit limit could cause problems I feel. Once you've used it up, you then have to make a payment against it, the payment has to be accepted, maybe next day. Not so much a hassle in preparation for your holiday, but possibly a big inconvenience over there.
