Arrived boxing day to the tail end of 4 days of wind and torrential rain. Kuta beach was a sight with mountains of junk washed up. Whilst they have cleaned up that the water is still filled with garbage and its been very disappointing to not be able to swim like we usually do. Staying at Kuta Seaview and am very happy, this is our third stay here and have been very happy with staff, rooms and restaurant.Unfortunately had my bag nicked whilst I was sitting on a pool lounge reading. Hard to believe it was right next to me and I saw and heard nothing. Lost my wallet phone etc. Word of advise DO NOT carry anything other than what you need. I had ALL my cards in my wallet along with westfield gift cards i had received for christmas. Hopefully the insurance company will behave lol. Spent 3 hours at police station obtaining a report and then cancelling all my cards.I think after ten trips with no problems I was lulled into a false sense of security. This has not tarnished my stay and the last 2 1/2 weeks have been great. No where near as hot as I thought. Have found some of our favourite restaurants have not been up to standard but Kori, Kunti Japanese and the beach warungs at the art markets have been great. Gosha was a new one for us and the chilli crab was to die for. Thanks to whoever it was on the forum who recommended it. More on my return.
