I just spent two weeks on the gold coast over xmas new year. This is where I took my fiancee..
Seaworld (you can usually get cheap tickets thru www.hotdockets.com.au or RACQ if you are a member) a drive thru surfers, sanctuary cove, sovereign islands (well my parents live there) we wanted to go to currumbin, but instead went to Lone Pine in Brisbane. I think adult tickets are 31 dollars for Currumbin wildlife park. They also have discounts to be found on the net.
We didnt visit the Q1 building, a bit of a waste of money.. fairly expensive..actually anywhere down near the main tourist strip is a waste of money :) hehehe...
We also visited the SEAWAY because that was the week, the cyclonic conditions were along the coast.. (crap timing on our part for a holiday)
We also visited plenty of shopping areas... runaway bay, harbour town (huge asian supermarket there with lots of indo products), helensvale...pacific fair..and Australia Fair.
