- the greatest number of tourists there will be the minimum level of need. For those who are hovering, ready to pounce and burn, please note that I did not say there are no needs in and around Kuta.
The further away you go the poorer the circumstances of the locals become.
My suggestion would be to decide how far away you want to travel and then look for a school or orphanage in that range.
For example, there is an orphanage for some wonderful children with special needs and handicaps as close as Gianyar north east of Kuta, or the worst orphanage we have come across in the whole of Bali is in Negara way out on the south west coast. A beautiful and somewhat different part of Bali but a full days trip.
