Our kids are the same age as yours. We've been staying in the Legian area since they were 5 and 8 and they still love it for all the reasons you've given. Matter of fact, quite a few friends of ours who used to stay in the Tuban area now stay in Legian.
The Jayakarta has a free shuttle bus to Kuta should you want to go there.
Sorry banandjos but the Jayakarta does not have bunk beds - rooms have two single beds or one double. You can, if needed, have an extra bed in a room.
