Hi, we stayed in Ubud for 3n in May before heading down to Tuban. Had a great time as we only had our 14mth old & left the other kids at home. Stayed at UVH & really liked it, specially the semi-outdoor bathroom! Very central with alot of good restaurants nearby. Just trying to remember them - Cinta Bar & Grill, 3 Monkeys and there were many more! Went to a restaurant 'Indus' I think, just a little out of main stretch, maybe 5mins or so from UVH. Beautiful!!! big balcony overlooking green hills and rice paddys. Went twice just for coffee & pancakes I think it was.
Went to the Bird Park, this was really lovely, nice grounds and tons of birds. Lots of trees and shade so even on a hot day it was quite pleasant and had a reasonable restaurant there. I'm not a real bird person but did enjoy the visit.
Just got our driver to take us for a drive around for a couple of hours one day - just so scenic around here.
And of course there is the markets here which are great - although a tad tricky with a stroller I must say but I was determined!

I would be interested in more info on the zoo. I hadn't intended to go as having been to Singapore Zoo I was a little worried that maybe the standard wasn't the same and we would be disappointed. Your opinion would be appreciated. Enjoy your trip!
