and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I sould suggest you stop off a day or two at the major cities like Surabaya, Jogjakarta, Bandung to see the sights. I travelled by bus to Gilimanuk, of course ferry across to Java (Ketapang), bus through east Java, train through the middle sections, then bus again. Loved it all, and have to say Java has the most wonderful scenery along the way.
