Hi guys - Sanur is a bit like that, isn't it! Same as you, we have stayed there each trip since about '96/'97 I think. Over that time I have seen all sorts of improvements to the mix of hotels and shops and lots of work done on the infrastructure of the area. But even so the area has managed to retain its village charm. Last trip I split my time between Jimbaran and Sanur and found both experiences special in their own way - but for me, Sanur seems to have the balance right. It appears that sanur has slowly grown in popularity over recent years and I wondered whether that was because people found the feel of the place to be nearer the Bali they first discovered; or perhaps the perception was that in light of the bombing targets, Sanur somehow seemed like a slightly safer option. Maybe Sanur is becoming "the" place that appeals more directly to the needs of the 39+ years people LOL. If I waas asked to summarise the key appeal of Sanur I think it would be to say that Sanur gives me the time and space to enjoy what Bali is areally about. Whatever, I think it has the offer right and I look forward to staying there as often as I can. Cheers - kevin
